WHAT YOU WILL LEARN: You will learn how to use Dreamweaver MX and ASP to build database driven web applications. This class is taught in a Hands-On manner, you will learn the concepts of building a web application by actually building a full featured CMS/Blog type application using Dreamweaver MX and ASP. Some of the topics covered are:
- Defining a Dreamweaver site using the ASP/VB Script Server Model
- Connecting to a database
- Storing, retrieving and deleting records in a database from a web page
- Working with recordsets
- User authentication - password protect pages and manage users and their passwords from a web interface
- Store formatted HTML in a database by using a "Rich Text" editor on a data entry web page.
- Building simple site search functionality into your site
- Building an article/content management system to allow multiple users to update content
